Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s army chief, General Asim Munir, expressed his firm commitment to the peaceful and prosperous future of Balochistan province on Wednesday, despite the challenges posed by a “small number of misinformed elements.” In a statement released by the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Munir emphasized that the resilience of the people of Balochistan could not be shaken by a few misguided individuals.
During a visit to Gwadar, General Munir had the opportunity to interact with Balochistan’s local leaders, elected officials, and members of different sectors of society. According to the ISPR, the army chief was briefed on the prevailing security situation and the army’s operational readiness to secure the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and maintain a peaceful environment.
Gen Munir lauded the efforts of all ranks and urged them to continue working with utmost professionalism for the betterment of the people of Balochistan. Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo and Quetta Corps Commander Lt Gen Asif Ghafoor were also in attendance during the visit.
The ISPR’s statement indicated that General Munir’s visit was a testament to the Pakistani military’s unwavering dedication to the stability and progress of Balochistan. Despite the challenges, the army remains determined to ensure that the region continues to move forward towards a peaceful and prosperous future.
