Pakistan Calls for Israel’s Accountability at Doha Summit

[post-views]

Pakistan on Sunday presented a sweeping set of proposals at the preparatory ministerial meeting of the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, urging the Muslim world to take concrete measures against Israel’s aggression. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar outlined a seven-point plan that included holding Israel accountable for war crimes, pushing for suspension of its UN membership, forming a joint Arab-Islamic task force, and demanding a permanent ceasefire along with humanitarian access in Gaza.

Dar condemned Israel’s “illegal and unprovoked” air strike on Qatar, calling it not just an attack on a sovereign state but also a direct assault on diplomacy, given Doha’s mediatory role in Gaza ceasefire efforts. He warned that Israel’s repeated strikes across the region posed a “dangerous trend” threatening international peace and security, emphasizing that “no state is safe from such an unhinged entity.”

Pakistan reaffirmed solidarity with Qatar, supporting its right to defend sovereignty and its people. Dar stressed that the Arab-Islamic world must rise with “unity, resolve, and purpose” to counter Israel’s growing aggression. He noted that Pakistan, as a UN Security Council member, had already helped convene an emergency session and would continue to push for international enforcement measures, including protection for Gaza.
