Pakistan Delivers 35-Ton Emergency Aid Package to Earthquake-Devastated Myanmar

Pakistan has sent a major humanitarian aid shipment to Myanmar following the catastrophic earthquake that has left thousands dead and injured. A special cargo flight carrying 35 tons of critical relief supplies departed from Islamabad International Airport on Tuesday, as confirmed by Radio Pakistan. The emergency consignment includes vital medical supplies, shelter materials, and food provisions to assist displaced survivors.

The aid package contains tents, blankets, tarpaulins, water purification units, ready-to-eat meals, and essential medicines—all urgently needed by affected communities. Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, personally oversaw the shipment’s departure, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Myanmar in this crisis. The supplies will be received by Myanmar authorities at Yangon Airport for immediate distribution.

The disaster’s toll continues to rise, with Myanmar’s leader Min Aung Hlaing confirming 2,719 fatalities, 4,521 injuries, and over 400 people still missing. Chinese state media (CCTV) reported that the death toll could surpass 3,000 as search and rescue operations uncover more victims.

This swift humanitarian response highlights Pakistan’s solidarity with Myanmar during one of its worst natural disasters in recent years. The aid aims to provide emergency shelter, medical care, clean water, and food to survivors facing extreme hardship. As recovery efforts continue, international assistance remains crucial to help Myanmar rebuild and heal.
