Pakistan Summons Afghan Deputy to Protest Bajaur Terror Attack

[post-views]

The Foreign Office summoned the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission to deliver a strong demarche over the recent terrorist attack in Bajaur, which claimed the lives of eleven Pakistani soldiers. The attack, involving a vehicle-borne suicide bomber followed by a coordinated fire raid, was carried out by the Fitna al Khwarij (FAK) group.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi condemned the assault in the strongest terms and expressed Pakistan’s deep concern over the continued operations of FAK and allied terrorist groups from Afghan soil. He highlighted that the leadership of these groups, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), is based in Afghanistan and continues to operate with impunity despite repeated assurances from the Afghan Taliban regime.

Andrabi stressed that Pakistan has consistently urged Kabul to take concrete and verifiable action against all terrorist networks within its territory, including targeting their leadership. The Afghan Taliban were warned that Pakistan reserves the right to take necessary measures to eliminate members of FAK and affiliated groups wherever they may be, in order to protect its soldiers, civilians, and territorial integrity.

The Foreign Office emphasized that inaction is unacceptable, underlining Pakistan’s determination to safeguard its borders and ensure accountability for attacks against its security forces.
