Pakistan Targets Terror Camps After Suicide Attacks, Blames Afghanistan-Based Militants

[post-views]

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (Pakistan) has said that Pakistan has solid evidence linking recent suicide attacks in the country to militant groups operating under Afghanistan-based leadership.

The statement comes after a series of suicide bombings during the holy month of Ramadan, including attacks near an Imam Bargah in Islamabad and incidents in Bannu and Bajaur. Authorities say the attacks were carried out by groups associated with the so-called Khwarij network, including factions of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Islamic State – Khorasan Province.

Pakistan accused the Taliban administration in Afghanistan of failing to take effective action against militant groups allegedly using Afghan territory to plan and launch attacks inside Pakistan despite repeated diplomatic requests.

In response to the attacks, Pakistan carried out intelligence-based strikes targeting seven militant camps and hideouts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Officials said the operation was precise and aimed at members of FAK-linked factions and ISKP militants.

Pakistan reiterated that protecting its citizens is its highest priority while urging Afghanistan to prevent its soil from being used for terrorism. Islamabad also called on the international community to encourage compliance with the Doha Agreement to support regional peace and security.
