Pakistani election officials ECP assure smooth General Election process

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dispelled concerns about the upcoming General Election, reaffirming that their operational and IT systems are fully functional and prepared for the task. They emphasized their confidence in a seamless voting experience through:

  • Automated Election Management System (EMS): A modern, tested system developed specifically for efficient result transformation and compilation, streamlining the flow from Presiding Officers to Returning Officers.
  • Enhanced Functionality: The EMS now offers additional features for Returning Officers, allowing them to utilize election data even during the polling process’s initial stages.
  • Secure Transmission and Tabulation: The ECP stressed that transmitting and tabulating results through the EMS poses no risk and will occur entirely offline on election day, not requiring internet access. To further ensure smooth communication, Returning Officers will have access to both fiber optic connections and Wi-Fi as backup.
