On Monday, Pakistan’s National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution denouncing Israel’s ongoing military actions in Gaza, labeling them as “heinous atrocities.” Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar introduced the resolution, which strongly condemned the destruction of homes, hospitals, schools, and places of worship across the region.
The resolution voiced Pakistan’s full support for the people of Palestine and their right to an independent state. Lawmakers called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and urged the global community to step up and stop the bloodshed. They also demanded continuous humanitarian aid for Palestinians trapped in the war-torn territory.
According to Gaza’s health ministry, over 1,570 Palestinians have been killed since fighting resumed on March 18, bringing the total death toll to more than 50,000 since the war began in October 2023.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar emphasized that the Pakistani people are united in their support for Palestine. He also highlighted that Pakistani passports explicitly ban travel to Israel, a reflection of the country’s long-standing stance.
Pakistan does not have diplomatic ties with Israel and has consistently condemned its military operations in Gaza. Islamabad continues to call for a two-state solution, based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital of a sovereign Palestinian state.
