ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan is scheduled to consider requests for elections to be held within a 90-day timeframe on the upcoming date of October 23 (Monday).

This significant development transpired shortly after Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa hinted at the Supreme Court’s intention to entertain petitions advocating for the timely organization of elections in the country, following the assumption of power by the caretaker government in August.

A three-member bench presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa and comprising Justice Athar Minullah and Justice Aminuddin Khan will be tasked with reviewing the petitions.

These pleas have been submitted by entities such as the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), among others, with the shared goal of ensuring that the electoral process in Pakistan proceeds in a timely manner.
