Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has lauded the courage, professionalism, and swift response of Pakistan’s armed forces following what he called a decisive victory in the recent conflict with India, referred to as “Marka-e-Haq.” In a statement released on Youm-e-Tashakur (Thanksgiving Day), the Prime Minister paid tribute to the martyrs and soldiers who defended the nation with valor after a sudden Indian assault earlier this month.
Reflecting on the events of the night of May 6–7, the Prime Minister recalled how India launched an unprovoked and cowardly attack, resulting in the martyrdom of innocent Pakistani civilians. In response, he said, Pakistan retaliated forcefully, delivering a powerful counterstrike. “Within hours, a numerically superior enemy was humbled. Their pride—the Rafale fighter jets—were destroyed by our Shaheens (falcons),” Shehbaz Sharif stated.
He praised the swift and precise actions of the Pakistan armed forces, emphasizing how they responded in the “language of the enemy” and dismantled strategic targets with pinpoint accuracy. “Their airbases and weapons stockpiles were reduced to rubble in a matter of moments,” he added.
The Prime Minister extended his admiration to the leadership of the military, singling out Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf for their role in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers during the crisis.
Beyond the battlefield, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the broader significance of the victory. “This was not just a military triumph—it was a testament to the strength of Pakistan’s unity and national spirit,” he said. “The entire nation stood as one, shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces, like a fortified wall.”
He also expressed gratitude to all political parties, including both opposition and allies, for showing unprecedented unity and solidarity during a critical time, marking what he described as a historic moment in Pakistan’s democratic and national resolve.
