Polio threat resurfaces as virus confirmed in Peshawar and Pishin

The polio virus’s threat looms again in the country as recent environmental samples from Peshawar and Pishin have confirmed its presence.
The Anti-Polio Program’s spokesperson said that samples were obtained on September 5 from Peshawar and September 4 from Pishin, revealing the presence of the polio virus in sewage samples.
The speaker added that there is a genetic link between this virus and the virus in Afghanistan.
