A year before the upcoming US election, President Joe Biden finds himself lagging behind the Republican frontrunner, Donald Trump, in five out of six crucial battleground states. This revelation comes as Americans express concerns about Biden’s age and dissatisfaction with his management of the economy, according to polls unveiled on Sunday.
The surveys, conducted by the New York Times in collaboration with Siena College, indicate that Trump, who is leading the race for his party’s 2024 nomination while vying to reclaim the presidency, is currently ahead in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. However, Biden maintains a lead in Wisconsin, as per the poll results.
Notably, Biden had emerged victorious in all six states during the 2020 election. Yet, the latest polls show a reversal in fortunes, with Trump holding an average lead of 48% to 44% across these pivotal states. This shift in public sentiment raises questions about the dynamics of the upcoming election and the potential impact of the key issues at hand.
