President Approves Top Military Appointments

President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the Prime Minister’s summary for key military leadership positions, marking a significant reshuffle at the top of Pakistan’s armed forces. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, currently serving as Chief of Army Staff, has been appointed concurrently as Chief of Defence Forces for a term of five years. This dual role positions him at the helm of Pakistan’s defence establishment, overseeing strategic and operational military affairs.

In addition, the President has sanctioned a two-year extension in the service of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff.
