Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by four runs in a thrilling match of Pakistan Super League Season Nine (PSL 9) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
Zalmi’s bowling line-up managed to restrict the opposition team to 200 in pursuit of a target of 205 runs.
Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan scored 32 runs while his opening partner Reza Hendricks was dismissed for five runs.
David Mullan (19), Tayyab Tahir (26) and Khushdil Shah (11) tried to extend the chase, but Amir Jamal and Naveen Haq bowled brilliantly to destroy the middle order.
On this occasion, Iftikhar Ahmed and Chris Jordan were able to save wickets and they revived the hopes of victory by scoring unbeaten 60 and 30 runs respectively, but could not give the team victory.
Earlier, Saeem Ayub and Babar Azam of Zalmi gave their team a strong opening stand, scoring 46 and 64 respectively.
