The Pakistan Cricket Board has moved to expand the Pakistan Super League, with Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announcing that two new teams will be added in the next edition. Posting on his X account, Naqvi said it was “time for two new dreams” as the board formally opened the bidding process for fresh franchises.
According to the PCB’s invitation, interested bidders can acquire documents containing full details, with technical proposals due by December 15 at 11:00am. Proposals will be opened the same day, and only those clearing the technical stage will move forward.
The announcement followed the completion of an independent valuation exercise conducted by EY MENA. Renewal offer letters have been issued to existing franchises, outlining revised fees for the next ten-year cycle, while joint and individual meetings have been arranged to ensure transparency.
The PCB has also received valuation reports for the two new teams. Prospective buyers may choose from a list of shortlisted cities including Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, and Rawalpindi.
The board said it remains committed to a fair, open, and investor-friendly process as it seeks to strengthen the league’s long-standing partnership model.
