The Pakistan Super League Season 9 began on Saturday with a spectacular opening ceremony at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Cricket fans in Lahore and around the world witnessed the wonderful performances of various artistes and the biggest attraction was the performance of singer Ali Zafar and Aima Baig in the anthem of PSL 9.
Spectators were also entertained by spectacular fireworks and a mesmerizing laser show.
In the opening match of the ninth edition of Pakistan Super League, Islamabad United defeated Lahore Qalandars by eight wickets.
Batting first, Lahore Qalandars scored 195 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted twenty overs.
In reply, Islamabad United achieved the target in 18.2 overs with the loss of two wickets.
Islamabad United’s Shadab Khan was declared the best player of the match. He played a great innings of 74 runs and was not out.
Two matches will be played today, in the first match Peshawar Zalmi will face Quetta Gladiators at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore at 2:30 PM and in the second match Multan Sultans will face Karachi Kings at Multan Cricket Stadium at 7:30 PM.
