The registrar office of the Islamabad High Court has scheduled April 20th as the date for hearing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s plea, expressing concerns about his arrest during the upcoming Eid ul Fitr holidays.
Khan’s counsel, Faisal Chaudhry, submitted the petition to Chief Justice Aamer Farooq earlier today, requesting the court to seek judicial permission for his arrest in any case.
The petition also urged the court to provide information on all cases registered against Khan in police stations across Islamabad and to disclose details of a secret case filed against him.
Khan alleged in the petition that the federal government is planning to arrest him during the Eid holidays and is targeting his residence in Zaman Park, Lahore. He urged the court to ensure that any potential arrest during the holidays should be subject to judicial permission.
