PTI Ends Rawalpindi Protest After Scheduled Demonstration

[post-views]

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially concluded its protest in Rawalpindi following a planned demonstration held on Saturday. PTI chairman Barrister Gohar called off the protest after the scheduled 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM demonstration time elapsed. He urged party workers to disperse peacefully and advised against further demonstrations at locations such as Liaquat Bagh. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced the conclusion of the protest and assured the party’s intention to stage another protest next week.

Clashes between PTI workers and police resulted in injuries to several officers and disruption to the local population. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja were briefly detained by the police but were later released. After the protest’s conclusion, authorities reopened highways and removed containers from 26 locations, including the expressway, and cleared the highways connecting Peshawar to Islamabad.
