Pakistan’s ruling party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has enlisted the help of a Washington-based lobbying firm, Praia Consultants LLC, to mend fences with US policymakers.
PTI USA signed a six-month contract with the firm for expert advice and guidance to promote the party’s image and foster good relations with the US government and Pakistani diaspora. The contract, which started on February 21, includes organising meetings with key decision-makers in the US and providing recommendations on the content of such meetings.
The agreement also includes a provision for an additional six months of service, subject to mutual agreement. Documents relating to the agreement were filed with the US Justice Department under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
