ISLAMABAD – PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja expressed concern over low participation from elected representatives in the August 5 protest, warning that absentees without valid reasons would be held accountable. Speaking outside Adiala Jail, Raja confirmed internal consultations are underway to review turnout and future strategy.
He confirmed that protests would continue, with August 14 set for the next nationwide demonstration — dubbed the struggle for “real independence” by Imran Khan, as shared by his sister Aleema Khan after meeting him in jail. Khan also urged PTI lawmakers not to contest any by-elections on disqualified seats and called for halting military operations in KP.
