On Sunday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) expressed approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz’s formation of a nine-member negotiating committee to engage in discussions with the opposition. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar expressed optimism that these negotiations would lead to positive outcomes, given the seniority and experience of the politicians involved.
PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed that the party has accepted Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s invitation to meet with the government’s negotiating team today (Monday). During this meeting, both committees will present their perspectives to each other.

The results of this discussion will significantly influence the government’s response to PTI’s key demands, which were outlined by the party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan. After the meeting, the PTI negotiating committee plans to update Khan, who is currently in Adiala Jail, on the outcome.
Waqas further mentioned that following this briefing, the decision regarding whether to proceed with a civil disobedience movement would be communicated to the public. Ultimately, it will be Imran Khan who decides on the course of action, as he holds the authority to either initiate or retract the movement.
