In response to a cyberattack, Iraqi authorities took swift action to deactivate electronic billboards in Baghdad. This move came after a hacker managed to display explicit adult content on one of the screens in the city on Sunday.
Local media reports confirm that the police have apprehended an individual in connection with the incident, which involved the unauthorized broadcast of explicit material to passers-by in the capital.
Shafaq News provided insight into the situation, stating, “Iraqi security authorities decided to temporarily turn off screens displaying advertisements in public places in the capital, Baghdad after they were subjected to electronic hacking and immoral clips were displayed in public.”
The explicit content was aired on a digital screen located in Uqba bin Nafeh Square, a bustling central thoroughfare in Baghdad, as reported by the Iraqi Interior Ministry. This incident serves as a reminder of the challenges posed by cyber threats and the need for heightened security measures in the digital age.
