Resignation Ripples: Nadra Chairman Exits Citing Charged Atmosphere

Tariq Malik, the Chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), has made the decision to step down from his position citing a “charged political environment.” This development came to light on Tuesday.

In a comprehensive three-page resignation letter, Malik highlighted his accomplishments and initiatives undertaken during his tenure as the head of Nadra.

Furthermore, he recommended that the federal government refrain from appointing serving or retired bureaucrats as the head of Nadra.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accepted Malik’s resignation and commended his contributions to the nation.

Malik assumed the role of Nadra chief in June 2021, appointed by the then Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government for a three-year term.
