Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Saturday claimed they carried out a drone strike on a ship linked to IsraelThe attack, reported on the Guards’ Sepah News website, targeted the commercial vessel MSC Ishyka, described as “owned by the Israeli regime and flying the flag of a third country,” while it was docked at Khalifa Bin Salman port in Bahrain.
Earlier, the Guards’ naval forces stated on X that the drone strike occurred in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key chokepoint for global oil shipments. The statement added: “A drone struck the vessel linked to the Zionist regime in the Strait of Hormuz; the ship caught fire.”
The Liberian-flagged MSC Ishyka, according to MarineTraffic, remained moored at Bahrain’s port on Friday night, suggesting the vessel had not yet resumed its voyage. The strike comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with the Guards previously warning of further attacks if perceived threats to Iranian interests continue.
