Russia’s Ministry of Defence announced on Monday that its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 16 Ukrainian drones overnight.
According to a statement on the ministry’s official Telegram channel, ten drones were shot down over the Kursk region, which shares a border with Ukraine, while five others were intercepted over the Sea of Azov, located to Russia’s east.
There were no immediate reports of damage. The ministry did not disclose how many drones were launched by Ukraine, only those that were successfully neutralized.
Separately, Iran has expressed “serious doubts” about Israel’s commitment to a ceasefire.
