Security forces have killed 13 terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna Al Khwarij during two intelligence based operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on December 12 and 13. According to the Inter Services Public Relations, the successful operations were carried out under the national counter terrorism campaign Azm e Istehkam and represent a major step in dismantling militant networks operating in the region.

In the first intelligence based operation, security forces acted on confirmed information regarding the presence of terrorists in Mohmand district. During an intense exchange of fire, seven terrorists were neutralized. The ISPR said troops effectively engaged the militant hideout and cleared the area through a coordinated and professional response.

In a separate operation in Bannu district, security forces killed six more terrorists. The military said sanitization operations are ongoing to ensure that no remaining militants are present in the area. The ISPR reaffirmed that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue operations at full pace to eliminate foreign sponsored terrorism from the country.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for their bravery and success. The president said safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty is the highest priority, while the prime minister stated that the entire nation stands united with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
