Senate Chief Steps Up as Interim President

In a remarkable turn of events, Sadiq Sanjrani, the dynamic chairman of the Senate, has assumed the responsibilities of acting president in the absence of President Dr. Arif Alvi.

President Alvi, accompanied by his family, embarked on a journey to Saudi Arabia for the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj.

As per an official notification released by the Cabinet Division, Sanjrani has officially taken on the role of acting president in Quetta. Currently stationed in Balochistan’s capital, he has traveled there due to the unfortunate demise of his aunt.

In accordance with the constitutional provisions, whenever the president of Pakistan is away from the country for any reason, the chairman of the upper house of parliament assumes the responsibility of acting president.

Sanjrani holds the distinction of being the youngest chairman of the Senate at the age of 39. Additionally, he proudly represents Balochistan as the first elected senator to hold this esteemed position.
