Sushiro, a popular sushi chain in Japan, has taken legal action against a high school student, demanding a staggering 67 million yen ($480,000) in compensation. The student became the center of attention on social media when a video surfaced, capturing him recklessly licking his finger and tampering with a plate of sushi as it glided along a conveyor belt at a Sushiro branch in Gifu. As a consequence, the incident coined the term “sushi terrorism,” highlighting unsanitary behavior at sushi train establishments where patrons select dishes from the moving belts.
