Iran refuses US negotiations, says no ceasefire requested

[post-views]

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Tehran has never requested a ceasefire and has not sought any form of negotiation with the United States.

His remarks came in response to earlier comments by former President Donald Trump, who claimed that Iran wanted a deal, but he was unwilling to agree, arguing that the terms were not good enough yet.

Speaking to CBS News’ Face the Nation, Araghchi said, “We see no reason to engage in talks with Americans, because we were already in discussions when they chose to attack us.”

He described the conflict as a war of choice by President Trump and the United States and emphasized that Iran would continue to pursue self-defence measures in response to American actions.

Araghchi’s statements underline Tehran’s firm stance against negotiations under current circumstances, signaling that the country considers the US responsible for escalating tensions rather than a willing partner for dialogue.
