In a shocking revelation, the private information of Indian citizens, including renowned lawmakers, has been compromised on the popular messaging platform Telegram. Trinamool Congress accuses the Modi government of being oblivious to this major data breach.
As per Indian media sources, the leaked data encompasses crucial details such as Aadhaar Card numbers, vaccination identification cards, gender, birth year, vaccination center names, voter IDs, and PAN card numbers.
A recent report by Malayala Manorama highlights that the breach occurred due to vulnerabilities in the CoWIN portal, the platform used for COVID vaccination registration.
According to the report, when a mobile number linked to the CoWIN portal is entered, the Telegram bot divulges sensitive information that becomes readily accessible to anyone on the platform.
