The skills and abilities of young people are incredibly important for their personal growth and for the well-being of society as a whole. When young individuals are equipped with the right skills, it helps them succeed in the modern job market and find good employment. Encouraging young people to be entrepreneurial also promotes new ideas and helps the economy grow.
Investing in the skills of young people means investing in the future. Young individuals have the potential to drive sustainable development and make a positive impact on the world. It’s important to address the challenges that young people face when entering the job market and provide specialized skills training for those who are not in school or currently employed. This creates equal opportunities for everyone and ensures that no one is left behind. Ultimately, empowering young people with skills helps them contribute to the workforce and take part in the progress of society, no matter where they come from or what their current situation is.
On World Youth Skills Day, observed every 15th of July, the focus is on the importance of giving young individuals the skills they need to find good jobs and become successful entrepreneurs. The goal of this day is to emphasize the significance of investing in youth skills as a way to improve job opportunities and support sustainable development worldwide. This effort, led by the United Nations and organizations like UNESCO-UNEVOC, aims to effectively address obstacles to entering the job market, ensure that acquired skills are officially recognized and certified, and provide tailored skills development for young people who are not in school or employed.
By promoting these comprehensive initiatives, the objective is to empower young individuals, regardless of their current circumstances, with the skills they need to contribute meaningfully to the workforce and participate in ongoing social and economic progress. These initiatives are inclusive, making sure that everyone, no matter their background or current situation, can benefit from them.
Each year, many highly skilled professionals leave Pakistan to work in other countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, and many more. This causes a lack of skilled workers in Pakistan, which makes it hard to maintain good quality services and products. It also makes it difficult for businesses to find the right people to hire. This is a big problem because it slows down Pakistan’s economy and stops new ideas and technology from coming into the country.
When skilled professionals leave, there aren’t enough people with the right skills to do important jobs. This makes it hard for businesses to find the right workers. Also, people in different parts of Pakistan leave for different reasons, and we need to understand these reasons to help everyone find good jobs. Even though Pakistan has almost 200 universities, there aren’t enough good jobs for the graduates, and this makes people feel discouraged about their future.

To solve this big problem, we need to do a lot of different things. First, we need to create good chances for people to make money. This means we need to make it easy for people to start businesses, and we need to make sure there are fair rules for everyone. We also need to give people the right education and skills so that they can do the jobs that businesses need. We should also think about helping people who do research or start new businesses, and we need to make sure our country is a good place for people to work and live.
It’s also important to have a fair and clear legal system and government, and rules about taxes that are fair for everyone. This helps people feel good about living and working in Pakistan. We also need to encourage people to feel proud of their country and work together with other countries so that people are happy to stay in Pakistan and help it grow.
Even though our healthcare and education systems might not be very good, we need to make them better so that people are happy to live and work in Pakistan. Everyone should have good healthcare and education that helps them find good jobs. We should also make sure that everyone has the same chances at work, no matter who they are. This can help make Pakistan a better place for people to work and live, even if they come from different backgrounds.
In the end, the problem of skilled workers leaving Pakistan needs to be fixed quickly, and everyone needs to work together to solve it. If we can stop people from leaving, it will help Pakistan’s economy grow, and it will help everyone have better lives.
