President Dr. Arif Alvi has upheld the dismissal of a bank manager who was found guilty of sexually harassing a female colleague at work.
Rejecting the representation filed by the accused against the decision of the ombudsman, the President said that the guilt of the accused has been proved by the evidence.
The President of the State said that the accused has also confessed to the charges, so there is no need to prove the admitted facts.
He said that undesirable behavior of co-workers makes working conditions hostile and unpleasant for women.
The President highlighted that the Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2010 aims to create a safe working environment for women to ensure their right to work with dignity. could
He said that this act is based on the principles of equal opportunity to earn livelihood for men and women without discrimination enshrined in the constitution.
