Asynchronous online learning can offer more flexibility and convenience for learners, but it also requires more self-discipline and motivation.
- Blended or hybrid learning: This is when online learning is combined with some face-to-face sessions in a physical classroom or lab. Blended learning can offer the best of both worlds, as it can enhance the quality and effectiveness of learning by using different modes and methods. However, it also requires more planning and coordination between online and offline activities.
Online learning has many advantages and disadvantages compared to traditional classroom learning. Some of the advantages are:

On the one hand, online learning can promote social mobility and empowerment, as it can provide more opportunities and choices for learners, especially women and girls, who may face social and cultural barriers to accessing education.
