Turkey is prepared to offer military aid to Syria’s new Islamist-led government, formed by rebels who ousted Bashar al-Assad, if the administration requests assistance, according to Defence Minister Yasar Guler. He emphasized the need to give the new leadership a chance, despite its ties to the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham rebel alliance, which is linked to Al-Qaeda. Guler acknowledged the group’s efforts to moderate its stance and respect the rights of all Syrians and legal institutions.
