UAE Declines to Join Gaza Stabilisation Force Citing Lack of Clear Framework

[post-views]

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has ruled out joining the proposed international stabilisation force for Gaza, citing the absence of a clear operational framework, a senior official said on Monday.

Emirati presidential adviser Anwar Gargash told the Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate forum that “the UAE does not yet see a clear framework for the stability force, and under such circumstances will probably not participate.”

The US-backed initiative is expected to involve forces from Egypt, Qatar, Turkiye, and possibly the UAE. However, the lack of clarity over its mandate and structure has raised hesitation among regional players.

Last week, US President Donald Trump said he anticipated the force would deploy to Gaza “very soon,” as a fragile ceasefire continues following two years of conflict.

The UAE, one of the few Arab states to normalise relations with Israel under the 2020 Abraham Accords, remains cautious about military involvement without defined objectives or international consensus.
