Shehbaz Sharif Urges Restraint as Pakistani Nationals Hurt in UAE Attack

[post-views]

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed deep concern over an incident at Khor Fakkan Port in the United Arab Emirates, where three Pakistani nationals were injured after a missile interception.

The attacks come amid Iran’s retaliatory campaign in response to the ongoing US-Israeli conflict in the region.

In a post on X, the premier stated, “Deeply concerned at the incident at Khor Fakkan port in the UAE, where an intercepted projectile caused injuries to civilians, including Pakistani nationals.” He prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and confirmed that Pakistan is maintaining close contact with UAE authorities to provide all possible assistance to its citizens.

“Pakistan stands in solidarity with the brotherly people of the UAE and underscores the urgent need for restraint and de-escalation in the region,” he added.

According to the Sharjah Media Office, a fire broke out at Khor Fakkan Port due to debris from missile interception by UAE air defence systems, injuring three Pakistanis and one Nepalese national. Emergency teams quickly brought the fire under control, and the injured were provided medical attention.

The ongoing regional conflict has already claimed the lives of four Pakistani nationals in the UAE due to falling debris from missile interceptions.
