United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his willingness to assist in peace efforts for Ukraine during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. The two leaders had informal discussions on Sunday night at Putin’s residence near Moscow that lasted until midnight.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized, through a translator, that the UAE is committed to mediating prisoner exchanges and will continue to actively work towards resolving conflicts for the benefit of both sides.
Putin has previously acknowledged the mediation efforts of Sheikh Mohammed and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
