The Head Honcho of the Armed Forces, General Asim Munir, has arrived in the Land of the Rising Sun (UK) on a top-notch mission. On the invitation of Britain’s Defense Department, General Munir has come to tackle some weighty security-related discussions.
According to the grapevine, General Munir will be an honored guest for five days starting from Monday, and he’ll be accompanied by some of the high-ranking military officials. They touched down in the UK on Saturday night.
This visit is deemed critical due to the recent spike in Taliban hostilities and the current state of affairs in South Asia. This marks General Asim Munir’s inaugural visit to the UK since he took the reins as Pakistan’s commanding army chief in November last year.
An inside source reveals that both nations are giving this visit top priority. The army chief will be speaking at the 5th joint UK-Pakistan stabilisation conference at Wilton Park between February 5-8.
Wilton Park, an executive body established by the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, facilitates open and honest discourse between governments.
