At least 250 Iranian students and teachers have lost their lives, and hundreds of educational institutions have been damaged, following US and Israeli attacks on Iran, according to reports by Al Jazeera.
Hossein Sadeghi, head of the Information and Public Relations Center at Iran’s Education Ministry, told the IRNA news agency that in addition to the fatalities, 184 students and educators have sustained injuries during the strikes.
In the capital, Tehran, the attacks claimed the lives of 16 students and five teachers, while eight students and five staff members were wounded.
Since February 28, nearly 200 administrative, cultural, and educational facilities across the country have been damaged, Sadeghi added, highlighting the devastating impact of the ongoing conflict on Iran’s education system.
The official’s remarks underscore the scale of human and institutional loss as the war continues to affect ordinary citizens, particularly young students and teachers, who are now among the direct victims of the regional escalation.
