Dennis Schröder scored 14 of his season-high 32 points in the fourth quarter, and the undermanned Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat 112-109 on Wednesday night despite the absence of LeBron James.

Russell Westbrook led the Lakers with 21 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds as they recovered from a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Miami without its top three scorers.
Anthony Davis and Lonnie Walker are injured, while James remained home with a cold.

Thomas Bryant contributed 21 points and nine rebounds, while Schröder was outstanding down the stretch.
