What is respect? Respect is a positive way of treating or judging someone. It concerns recognizing their significance and stature as human beings and treating them accordingly.
The best part of respect is treating other humans as humans. Women are born to be respected in all societies, ages and philosophies. A society that does not respect a woman is not civilized. Rather, it can not claim to be a functional social or political organization—almost all faiths, cultures and civilizations respect women. Respect for women is a human obligation. It is the primary right of a woman to be respected. The society of Pakistan always has respected women. It has been their culture that emanates values from their faith, ideology and cultural rites. However, this sublime value is facing a severe threat. Where the women in Pakistan face the challenges of cultural, economic and political rights, the fundamental right of respect is being compromised as social values are decreasing. The first behavioral response is to blood relations. The individuals respect their mothers, sisters, daughters and wives, but they do not respect the women of others. It is alarming and unacceptable for society. The resolution is that society as a whole respect women as human beings. It is also vital before ensuring the growth and development of women in the country; it is paramount to respect women. It is their primary right, followed by other rights. There is a need to mend the social behaviors towards women. Where social institutions are significant for the cause, implementation of the law and writ also critical. The worst issue that women are facing in Pakistan is harassment. They find it difficult to go outside without their men. The day the women in Pakistan can go outside freely and safely, the moment it shall prove that society has started respecting women.
