Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has warned that Pakistan will never allow India to block or divert the Indus River, pledging to defend the country’s water rights “at all costs.” Addressing members of the Pakistani-American community in Tampa, Florida, FM Munir said Pakistan would dismantle any controversial dam built by India to restrict river flow. “The Indus River is not the Indians’ family property. We have no shortage of resources to undo their designs,” he asserted.
