At least 23 Pakistan Armed Forces personnel were martyred and over 200 Afghan Taliban and allied militants killed in fierce overnight cross-border clashes, the military’s media wing confirmed on Sunday. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Pakistan’s forces decisively repelled a large-scale unprovoked attack by Afghan Taliban and Indian-sponsored terrorists along the Pak-Afghan border.
The ISPR stated that Pakistan will “continue to exercise its right to defend its people by neutralising terror targets” if the Taliban-led government fails to act against militants operating from its territory. Precision strikes destroyed multiple Taliban camps, posts, and training facilities. Twenty-one enemy positions were briefly captured before Pakistani troops withdrew after inflicting heavy losses.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the martyred soldiers, praising the “full and effective response” by Pakistan’s armed forces and reaffirming that “every provocation will be met with decisive action.” He expressed pride in the professionalism of the military and vowed there would be “no compromise on Pakistan’s defence.”
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also saluted the fallen heroes, declaring that Pakistan’s soldiers “sent over 200 Afghan Taliban and Indian-sponsored terrorists to hell.” He affirmed that their sacrifices “will always be remembered” and that Pakistan’s sovereignty remains non-negotiable.

The ISPR condemned the Afghan Taliban’s collaboration with “Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan,” warning Kabul to abandon its “shortsighted policy of sponsoring terrorism” and focus on the welfare of its people. Pakistan, it asserted, will defend its borders and eliminate threats “emanating from Afghan soil.”
