Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday cautioned Kabul that durable peace in the region depends on Afghanistan acting decisively against terrorist groups operating from its soil. Addressing the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference in Islamabad, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s belief in peace through dialogue and diplomacy, asserting that true regional stability can only be built on mutual respect and security.
The premier said that despite Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peaceful coexistence, terror networks continue to disrupt harmony within and beyond Afghanistan. Referring to recent border clashes, Shehbaz described Islamabad’s response as “firm and decisive,” stressing that peace must now be reinforced through honest political commitment.
