Sheheryar Munawar took to Instagram on Saturday to share the first teaser for his upcoming ARY Digital drama, Dar-e-Nijaat, or Door of Liberation, and the brief clip has left viewers with plenty to speculate about.

The serial, written by Umera Ahmed, brings together Munawar with Nameer Khan and Durefishan Saleem in lead roles. The teaser hints at a love story between Khan and Saleem playing out in the United States, while Munawar appears to portray an upper-middle-class Pakistani man whose life is anchored in his faith. Khan’s character seems to sit at odds with that worldview through his lifestyle choices, while Saleem’s character appears torn between the two men and the values they represent. Verses and references drawn from Islamic teaching feature throughout the teaser, suggesting religion will run through the story as more than a backdrop.

The footage moves through a tense montage, including a moment where Saleem’s character slaps Khan’s and another where a glass is smashed to the floor, signaling that conflict and emotional stakes will be central to the drama. Beyond that, the plot itself remains largely under wraps, and no release date has been confirmed yet, with the channel simply billing the project as coming soon. ARY Digital has described it as a story built around fate, heartbreak, and redemption.

Earlier posts from Munawar have already revealed more of the supporting cast, which includes Sahar Hashmi, Romaisa Khan, Sania Saeed, and Saba Hameed.

Dar-e-Nijaat is directed by Saqib Khan and marks the debut drama serial from 3’s Entertainment, a production house led by Munawar alongside Sonya Khan.
