Asif Ali Zardari witnessed the signing of three agreements between Pakistan and China on Monday, aimed at boosting cooperation in water management, agriculture, and the tea industry during his official visit to China.
One agreement focuses on a seawater desalination project in Karachi. The deal, signed between the Sindh government and Lucion Environmental Technology Group, is expected to help tackle the city’s water shortage by converting seawater into usable drinking water.
A second agreement was signed with Long Ping High-Tech Information Company to enhance collaboration in modern farming techniques and agricultural development.
The third deal aims to strengthen the tea sector. It was signed between MESKAY & FEMTEE Trading Company, Hunan Tea Group, and Jiaolong International Technology to expand trade, improve production, and deepen business and cultural ties.
Senior officials from Sindh and Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in China were also present. The agreements reflect growing economic cooperation between the two countries and efforts to develop key sectors through joint initiatives.
