Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will visit Pakistan on Tuesday at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and senior officials. This will mark his second visit to Pakistan since assuming the presidency.
During the visit, President Pezeshkian will hold meetings with the President of Pakistan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Chairman of the Senate, the Speaker of the National Assembly, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister will also call on the Iranian president separately.
The two sides are expected to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explore new avenues for deeper cooperation across trade, energy, border security, people-to-people exchanges, and regional connectivity. The visit will also provide an opportunity to discuss diplomatic engagements following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, alongside regional and international developments of shared concern.
The visit comes against the backdrop of active Pakistani diplomatic engagement on the broader US-Iran track. US Vice President JD Vance has confirmed that initial talks in Switzerland have laid a strong foundation for a final deal, with Pakistan and Qatar serving as mediators. Vance noted that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, with significantly increased volumes of crude and natural gas now flowing through the waterway.
