Maryam Nawaz Announces Seven Additional Electric Buses for Sargodha

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced seven additional electric buses for Sargodha as part of the provincial government’s efforts to expand public transport facilities in the district.

The announcement came during a meeting with members of the Punjab Assembly from Sargodha, who thanked the chief minister for introducing the electric bus service in the region.

The delegation included Provincial Minister Sohaib Ahmad Malik, Mansoor Azam, Mian Sultan Ranjha, Ikram-ul-Haq, Safdar Hussain Sahi, Rana Munawar Hussain, Taimur Ali Khan and Sardar Asim Sher Maken.

During the meeting, the lawmakers also praised the establishment and rapid completion of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha.

Maryam Nawaz directed the elected representatives to closely oversee the Model Village initiative, the Suthra Punjab Programme and clean drinking water projects. The meeting also discussed proposals aimed at speeding up development work across the district.

The lawmakers briefed the chief minister on public responses to various development initiatives. They said thousands of passengers were using electric buses every day on routes serving Bhalwal, Bhera, Sillanwali, the university, DHQ, Shahinabad, Kot Momin and Tehsil Sahiwal.

They described the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology as a significant addition to Sargodha’s healthcare infrastructure and said the provincial government’s welfare initiatives were receiving appreciation both within Pakistan and abroad.

Maryam Nawaz said she was particularly pleased to see women and children travelling comfortably on the electric buses.

She said Sargodha, along with other cities of Punjab, was being placed on a path towards development and that available resources were being used to improve facilities for citizens.

The chief minister added that ensuring development across all parts of Punjab without discrimination was central to Nawaz Sharif’s vision.
