WASHINGTON: While answering a question on Pakistan’s appeal to International Monetary Fund (IMF) to loosen its criteria, State Department Spokesperson Ned Price on Monday stated that Washington would like to see Pakistan “go down the path of change”.
During a news conference, Price was questioned about Pakistan’s request to the IMF to modify its stance and restructure its bailout package at the donors’ conference in Geneva.
The spokeswoman stated that the IMF will ultimately determine whether to ease constraints. “Of course, we want to see Pakistan continue on its reform path.
“We want to be a partner,” Price stated. According to the State Department source, Washington will continue to be a partner to Pakistan in all of their goals, whether security, economic, or humanitarian.
