The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has expressed his strong disapproval of the recent desecration of the Quran in Sweden by a far-right Danish politician. Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the Danish party Stram Kurs, set aflame on a copy of the Quran outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.
This offensive act has been widely condemned by Muslim countries around the world, including Pakistan, Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
PM Sharif also stated that the “cloak of freedom of expression cannot be used to inflict pain on the spiritual sentiments of Muslims.” He went on to say that no words are adequate to express the abhorrent nature of this act.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has also expressed its strong condemnation of the desecration of the Holy Quran by the far-right Danish politician Rasmus Paludan. The office emphasized that this act has caused deep emotional pain to the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world.
