A recent Harvard-Harris Poll released on Friday has some intriguing insights into the potential Republican primary race for the presidential nomination. According to the survey, former President Donald Trump appears to be a dominant force, securing a whopping 52% of voter support if the nomination were to be held today. In contrast, another contender, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, trails far behind with a mere 12% of support. Meanwhile, Vivek Ramaswamy, a biopharmaceutical entrepreneur, manages to secure the third spot with 10% support, according to the polls.
Even more fascinating is the head-to-head matchup between the incumbent US President Joe Biden and the former President Trump. Despite Biden’s age of 80 years and Trump being 77 years old, the poll suggests that Trump would defeat Biden by a margin of 45 to 40%. Notably, there remains an important 16% of voters who are undecided about their candidate. The gap between Vice President Harris and Trump is even wider, with 47% supporting Trump and 38% favoring Harris.

The poll also sheds light on the general discontentment among voters towards both major party candidates.
